Job Summary/Primary Role:  The Mobilization Applicant Coordinator’s primary role is to oversee and coordinate the processing of missionary applicants from the time of initial application to appointment.  The Mobilization Specialist will coordinate with other departments throughout the organization to guide applicants through the various steps of the missionary application.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as first point of contact for potential missionaries who have demonstrated interested in joining ABWE via an initial application submission (includes initial screening and guidance regarding big picture of the process and next steps).
  • To be a constant presence in the office.  Answering and transferring phone calls, answering emails, and general SMS messages for the department.
  • Guides the applicant in understanding all of the steps involved in the process of becoming an ABWE missionary.
  • Reviews and guides the applicant to complete organizational requirements necessary to be considered for appointment and/or employment.
  • Coordinates scheduling for  Doctrinal Interviews as appropriate for the selected pathway.
  • Ensures that an applicant has met the requirements of the organization and is appointable/employable.
  • Connects the applicant to the appropriate Mobilizer, Regional Director, or Executive Director.
  •  Attends essential Mobilization events as needed.
  •  Administrates CRM software (Rock) in managing applicants.
  •  Oversees and ensures that an applicant is progressing along the application journey to the point of appointment/hire.
  • Serves as customer service representative for initial applicants.
  •  Communicates and interacts with ABWE missionaries, employees, and departments who need to be involved in the application process and/or review applicants prior to hire.
  • Coordinates, evaluates, and problem solves in a process management environment.
  • Ensures that the missionary applicant has submitted all required documents prior to hire.
  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications: Ability to pass background check and all necessary clearances as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Education:  Associate’s Degree in business, office administration or related field, preferred; or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Prior Experience Required:  Previous business or office management experience or experience in a related field/capacity. Previous cross-cultural experience preferred.

Preferred Prior Experience:

  • Knowledge of the Bible and the Biblical principles of world missions.
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, organization, and multitasking.
  • Office management and/or customer service management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a CRM (Rock) software platform.
  • Familiarity with missions, short-term and long-term, both in practice and principle.

  • Strong communication skills:  ability to effectively communicate by phone, email, text, etc., with a variety of individuals and departments.
  • Highly organized:  will often be required to manage the processing of 75+ individuals at a time who are at varying stages of the appointment/hiring process.
  • Able to multi-task and maintain details.
  • Takes initiative, self-disciplined, energetic and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to learn new technology, familiarity with or ability to learn CRM and manage application tools.
  • Able to work alone or in a team environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations, including extended periods of time sitting at a desk. The work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a moderate to high noise level. Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000 (depending on experience)
