This special seminar is top-to-bottom overview on internal employment investigations. Participants will learn about the importance of internal investigations, and how a well-run investigation is not only a matter of good member care, but a wise investment in limiting risk and liability. The seminar will impart practical tips and skills on running a successful investigation, including:

  • The Reporting Process
  • Investigation Triggers and Escalation
  • Dealing with Safety Issues and the Accused
  • Building the Investigative Team
  • Developing the Investigative Plan
  • Reviewing Documents and Other Evidence
  • Conducting Interviews
  • Reporting Findings
  • Remedial Action
  • Wrapping up the Investigation

Participants will then put the skills they’ve learned into practice by engaging in a directed table-top exercise with a simulated investigation based on a real-world scenario.

Jennifer Holloran, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, has served with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 2002, and as Chief Human Resources Officer since 2012. She is passionate about transformational and relational human resources and organizational development strategies and practices, particularly within the context of missions and ministry work. Her current focus is in how spiritual formation, diversity, and meaningful relationship impact organizational culture. Jennifer and her husband Tim have been married for 15 years. They have two daughters, Katherine and Penelope, and reside in Orlando, Florida.

Terry Clausen has been with Wycliffe Bible Translators, USA for 17 years, working in various aspects of Personnel/HR roles within Wycliffe USA. Terry now serves as the Senior Director of HR People Services. Terry also serves on the Child Safety and Protection Network Board. Her areas of expertise involve staff management, compliance, coaching, risk mitigation, child safety, difficult issues, and merging member care with HR professional care to name a few. Terry’s heart is to serve others through caring professionalism in the field of human resources.
