CEO Peer 2 Peer Retreat
April 24 @ 3:00 pm – April 26 @ 3:00 pm
Mission Leaders ask Missio Nexus staff about “internationalization” more often than most other topics. How does a mission go from being a national organization to one which is truly global? Today’s world requires decentralization of not just the management, but the leadership philosophy of a leader. Joe Handley, President of A3 (formerly Asian Acess) and author of Polycentric Mission Leadership, will lead us in an exploration of these new realities.
We will also feature discussion on topics of your choosing, worship, time in the Word, and unique fellowship among other leaders.
What to Expect
- Network with other CEOs
- Participate in interactive discussions on topics provided by attendees
- Engage in facilitated discussions with our featured speaker
Although there is not a specific program for spouses, all CEO spouses are more than welcome to join us and to participate in the program to the extent that they desire.
Registration includes lodging and meals.
Our Featured Speaker
Rev. Joseph W Handley, Jr., Ph.D. is a seasoned mission leader with over 30 years of global experience. Born and raised in Southern California, he received a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in theology from Azusa Pacific University. In 2020, he completed a Ph.D. in intercultural studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Joe served nine years at Azusa Pacific University as the founding director of their Office of World Missions and director of one of the first multi-national high school mission congresses in Mexico City in 1996. In 1998 the Lord called him to Rolling Hills Covenant Church where he served as the Global Outreach Pastor and shortly thereafter as Associate Pastor for Outreach Ministries. In July of 2008, Joe answered God’s call becoming the fourth president of A3, a developer of Christ-like leaders seeking to accelerate Christ-centered movements around the world.
In his role and in the many other roles in which he serves, Joes strives to develop leaders for mission movements wherever he goes. His passion is to come alongside local leaders to encourage and empower them in their calling to reach the world for Christ.

“At the 2022 event, I got the encouragement and teaching my soul and mind longed for yet I didn’t know I needed. This is because Ted and the MissioNexus team stay on top of current events and the issues impacting missions, mission leaders, and our missions community. I highly encourage every missions leader regardless of their schedule or agency size to consider attending the CEO event. Your soul will be refreshed. And your team will be grateful when you return energized and ready to lead.”
