EMQ Magazine Wins Three Awards at the 2024 Evangelical Press Association Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Missio Nexus’ publication, Evangelical Missions Quarterly (EMQ), has been honored with three prestigious awards at the 2024 Evangelical Press Association (EPA) Awards Contests. These awards reflect EMQ‘s ongoing commitment to serve as a platform where mission workers can exchange ideas, inspire one another, and stay informed on innovative approaches and effective practices in missions work.

Award of Excellence: Most Improved (Print)

EMQ was awarded the 2024 Award of Excellence in the category of Most Improved (Print). This prestigious recognition celebrates the significant progress the magazine has made in refreshing its design, content, and overall appeal. The credit for this achievement goes to our dedicated team: Heather Pubols, Kurtis Amundson, David Dunaetz, Wayne Kehoe, Annette Esler, and Mary Kay Palguta.

The judge’s report noted, “EMQ has made substantial strides in reaching new generations of readers through a fresh, strikingly designed, and well-curated mix of relevant stories.” This recognition underscores our commitment to serving the global missions community with engaging and meaningful content.

Higher Goals in Christian Journalism: Biblical Exposition

EMQ also received a Second Place award in the category of Biblical Exposition for David Bookless’s article, “A Missional Theology of Creation Care.” The judge’s report highlighted the innovative perspective this article offers, stating, “Fascinating! Outstanding job of introducing and arguing for a different view of missions.” This recognition demonstrates EMQ‘s dedication to thought-provoking content that challenges and inspires its readers.

Higher Goals in Christian Journalism: Cover

In addition to these honors, EMQ received a Fourth Place award in the category of Cover for its Volume 59, Issue 3. Credit for this stunning cover design goes to Kurtis Amundson. The creative and eye-catching design is a testament to the artistic talents of our team, contributing to the magazine’s enhanced visual appeal.
