About the Organization
Roughly 42% of the over 8 billion people alive today have never heard the name of Jesus. New Generations is an international Christian ministry that partners with God and local leaders to launch Disciple Making Movements, especially in places where the gospel has never been or is not flourishing. Our passion is to mobilize disciples that make disciples, resulting in churches that plant churches so that lives, families, communities and societies are transformed. In over 60 countries and among over 1,000 people groups, since March 2005, New Generations has partnered with the Lord to plant 177,000 new churches with over 3 million new disciples and translate Scripture into over 300 new languages. Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization and collaborating on strategic planning. This includes financial planning, budgeting, accounting, compliance, and risk management—particularly in the context of international operations. The CFO will ensure the organization maintains the highest standards of financial integrity, transparency, and compliance with global regulatory requirements. The CFO is a key strategic partner in the fulfilment of the mission to catalyze disciple making movements everywhere.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
·      Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
·      Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on financial planning, sustainability, and risk mitigation through proactive communication, regular meeting rhythms, and dashboard creation.
·      Collaborate with senior leadership in strategic planning and operationalization.
·      Lead and monitor the annual budgeting process and multi-year financial forecasting.
Accounting, Administration & Reporting
·      Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, approvals, cash advances and grants accounting.
·      Supervise administration of payroll, benefits, and legal compliance.
·      Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, ECFA, IRS and other applicable standards.
·      Lead the annual audit process, 990 filing, and liaise with external auditors.
International Compliance & Risk Management
·      Maintain internal controls and financial policies to maintain compliance in international activities.
·      Establish entities and funding structures to mitigate risk and navigate ever-changing governmental regulation in cross-border financial transactions.
Grants & Donor Financial Management
·      Oversee financial aspects of grant proposals, budgeting, and reporting.
·      Ensure compliance with donor-specific financial requirements.
·      Support fundraising efforts with financial storytelling, data, and analysis.
·      Engage and thank existing donors as a part of the organization’s culture of fundraising.
Team Leadership & Development
·      Serve and support global partners, balancing financial control with trust and empowerment to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
·      Manage financial and administrative staff and vendor relationships.
·      Guide daily financial operations by optimizing systems and providing solutions to complex issues.
·      Other related duties as directed by the CEO.
Qualifications
Required
·      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
·      Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior role.
·      Proven ability to manage complex budgets.
Preferred
·      Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
·      CPA or equivalent certification.
·      Experience working in or with nonprofit organizations with global operations.
·      Experience with financial management of international grants.
·      Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage Intaact).
·      Experience presenting to boards and committees.
